This Valentine’s Day whip up these super easy dips – a match made in heaven when paired with our EMILY Veg Thins. Whether you are spending the day with a special someone or hosting a Galentine’s dinner party, these delicious dips are sure to impress!
We got into the Valentine’s spirit by quizzing our Technical Huns on all things heart health. Believe it or not in the UK we only eat around 60% of the fibre that we should consume in a day. We should be eating 30g per day, but most people only eat around 18g. EMILY Veg Thins are both high in fibre and protein due to being packed with WHOLE beans and pulses. For our Silky Homemade Heart Hummus, you will need:
400g Tin Chickpeas, drained & rinsed
1 Clove of Garlic
1 tbsp Tahini
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Salt to taste
Tip all ingredients into a blender, starting with 1 tbsp olive oil and blend. Scrape the hummus down the sides of the blender and blend again. Add more olive oil, 1 tbsp at a time until you reach the desired texture. Have a taste and add more lemon juice or a dash of water to loosen. Season to taste and serve in a bowl. We topped ours with Pomegranate Seeds to add colour, another one of your 5 a day and texture.
For our BOLD & Beautiful Beetroot Dip, you will need:
Beetroot (2-3 bulbs)
1 Garlic Clove
Butter Beans (Half a can)
The Juice & Zest of Half a Lemon
Small Handful of Chopped Parsley
Drizzle of Olive Oil
Tablespoon of Tahini
Salt & Pepper to taste
Tip all ingredients into a blender and blend. Have a taste and add more lemon juice or a dash of water to loosen. Season to taste and serve in a bowl.
